Level designer Richard "Levelord" Gray has died, according to PC Gamer and Kotaku. Apogee Entertainment shared the news, which came from his wife, and Kotaku says he was 68. No cause has been officially confirmed.
Gray began making maps in his thirties and joined the Duke Nukem 3D team before founding Ritual Entertainment, which worked on Quake's Scourge of Armagon mission pack, SiN, Star Trek: Elite Force 2 and Counter-Strike: Condition Zero. Kotaku highlights his levels "The Edge of Oblivion" and "Behind Zee Bookcase", and a hidden Duke Nukem 3D easter egg reading "You're not supposed to be here".
