Xbox CEO Asha Sharma has told staff the company is creating XP, a division focused on how people experience its franchises beyond the games. It has four branches: Xbox Pictures (film and TV), Xbox Products (licensing and merchandise), Xbox Partnerships (brands and sponsors) and Xbox Places (events, theme parks and location-based experiences).
It will be led by Kayleen Walters, who built Minecraft's consumer products into a multibillion-dollar business at Mojang and previously worked at Lucasfilm. Separately, Maria Angelidou-Smith, a former Meta executive who led Facebook Groups, takes over as Mojang CEO on October 19.
