Sony announces a Midnight Black PS5 Digital Edition, Japan-only for now
It launches November 19 for ¥55,000; only the color changes, not the hardware.

Sony Interactive Entertainment Japan Asia will release the PlayStation 5 Digital Edition in Midnight Black on November 19, with a matching DualSense controller. VGC reports it costs ¥55,000 (about $350) and is the cheaper region-locked variant sold in Japan; Push Square clarifies that only the color of the casing and controller changes.
The console works only with a PlayStation account set to Japan and the system language set to Japanese. Sony has also announced a Midnight Black disc drive for the same day, and has not said whether the model will reach other markets.
