Blizzard pulls WoW: Forever beta access from players with offensive names
The new character surnames led to crude names; the game launches November 4.
World of Warcraft: Forever lets players pick a first and last name for their character, and per Vandal some beta testers have made crude combinations. Blizzard reminds players its naming policy still applies and that it will remove access from those who break it.
Icy Veins and Dexerto report that Blizzard announced on its forums forced renames and the removal of beta access for some users, with an automated filter on the way. Producer Tom Ellis answered complaints with a "no sympathy" remark that stirred controversy.
Launch is set for November 4 on PC and macOS, included in the WoW subscription.
