Warhorse hopes GTA 6 paves the way for $80 AAA games
COO Martin Klima argues for higher unit prices amid the sector's crisis.
In an interview with PC Gamer, relayed by Vandal, Martin Klima of Warhorse Studios (Kingdom Come: Deliverance) says "hopefully GTA will pave the way and allow us to raise the price". He argues only Rockstar and Take-Two can afford the move and that the rest of the industry is "scared to death" of it.
GTA 6's standard edition will cost $79.99 in the US, around ten dollars above other big releases. So far only Nintendo, with Mario Kart World, had reached that territory.
Other outlets note opinions are split: some find $80 too steep, others say it is too low.
