The Coalition is mitigating the attacks; Alinea Analytics estimates about 230,000 copies sold in week one.

Players of Gears of War: E-Day (released October 6 on Xbox Series and PC) reported disconnects and login problems on Sunday. The Coalition blamed a distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attack over the weekend and said on X that its teams are monitoring and mitigating the attacks.
Separately, Vandal relays an Alinea Analytics estimate: about 230,000 copies in week one (around 168,000 on Steam), plus 1.7 million Game Pass players, 722,000 of whom paid for the Premium upgrade. These are estimates, not Microsoft figures. Analyst Rhys Elliott argues Game Pass cuts into sales; Circana's Mat Piscatella counters that playing through a subscription is not automatically a lost sale.
