Nintendo says it won't abandon physical games and explains its pricing
A Latin America executive says so as Ocarina of Time opens pre-orders at €59.99 digital and €69.99 physical.
Bill van Zyll, vice president and general manager of Nintendo Latin America, said the company has no plans to drop physical games: "historically we have not shown a preference for a specific format", and Switch 2 offers both. Nintenderos relays the remarks from a Portuguese-language outlet.
He also outlined a more flexible pricing approach, with games at $40, $50 and up to $80 and a $10 gap between digital and physical. It shows in Europe with the Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake for Switch 2 (November 5), which costs €59.99 digital and €69.99 physical on Nintendo Store.
