Phantom Blade Zero arrives October 29 and early previews are glowing
Several outlets have played six to ten hours of S-GAME's action RPG: they praise the combat and bosses, and warn it is demanding.

Push Square and Insider Gaming both place Phantom Blade Zero's launch on October 29. Push Square played about six hours of a near-final build and highlights confident combat: basic attacks cost no stamina, but blocking, dodging and special strikes do, and every well-timed defence charges a powerful attack.
Insider Gaming, which spent close to ten hours with the game, stresses the variety of weapons (about 30 planned) and bosses, plus the wuxia-inspired setting. Enemies do not respawn and early areas are fairly linear; the outlet adds that, despite the focus on combat, it is not a Soulslike.
On the downside, Insider Gaming mentions stuttering in the preview build that caused missed parries, which it expects to be fixed before launch, and a high difficulty even on the standard setting. IGN has also published its preview.
