Denuvo seeks to subpoena Discord, Valve and Reddit to identify a hacker
The lawsuit targets user "voices38", accused of bypassing the protection in 26 games.
According to Game Developer, Denuvo has asked a federal court in the Northern District of California for permission to send subpoenas to Discord, Valve and Reddit in order to identify the hacker known as "voices38". In September, the company sued under the DMCA's anti-circumvention provisions, alleging the hacker bypassed its protection on 26 games.
Denuvo only knows the username and does not know whether it is one person or a group. As of October 8, the request is pending and a judge must decide whether it can proceed.
