Sony is transferring more than 400 VR patents to Meta
The deal, spotted by ZDNet Korea, includes 43 US patents and reopens questions about PS VR2's future.

Sony is handing Meta a total of 419 patents relating to virtual and extended reality headsets, 43 of them US patents transferred between June and September. The report comes from ZDNet Korea and was picked up by Road to VR.
Neither company has commented, but the specialist press reads it as PlayStation stepping back from VR hardware. Some caution is warranted: there has been no official announcement about PS VR2 or a potential successor.
