Squadron 42 returns with a trailer, a Steam page and a 2027 window

Cloud Imperium Games released "The Oath" on October 10, a trailer for Squadron 42, Star Citizen's single-player campaign, and opened its Steam page. According to 3DJuegos, the launch window is April 1 to June 30, 2027, after dropping a 2026 target. The previous showing dated from October 2024.

Set in 2945 with the United Earth Empire near collapse, it mixes space and ground combat, stealth and choices, with a cast including Mark Hamill, Gary Oldman, Gillian Anderson, Henry Cavill and Andy Serkis. GameSpot praises the trailer but headlines that the 2027 date is "hard to believe": the project has been in development for over a decade and Star Citizen has raised more than $1 billion.
