Pearl Abyss defends Crimson Desert: critics "didn't get a fair chance" to explore it
Executive Lybee Park attributes the middling scores to limited time and a build different from launch; the game has sold 6 million copies.

Lybee Park, Pearl Abyss's European lead, told The Game Business Show that both sides have a point, "especially the critics", but that the press had limited time and did not play the launch version, per Kotaku and VGC. Kotaku cites a 77 on Metacritic.
Kotaku adds that the game got a day-one patch and a bigger update in its first week that reworked systems such as inventory limits, which had frustrated reviewers. After a correction, the outlet confirms Pearl Abyss gives a figure of 6 million sales (an earlier version said 7).
The "Charting the Unknown" DLC arrives October 29.
